The Seeds of VSK sprouted in the mind of the founder and Director : Dr. Sandeep Shah (MD) who has been practicing in the city since 30+ years specialising in Internal Medicine. His mother - Respected Mrs. Naliniben, had a long standing respiratory and cognitive illnesses and needed frequent visits from specialists and hospital admissions in her last 2 decades. It was then he realised how important a medical set up is for elderly like his mother. As he was a doctor and had easy access to required facilities, he often thought and met certain patients and their relatives who had trouble with their geriatric populace due to inaccessibility or delayed medical treatments and wished there was a way to bridge the gap.

An old age home cares for every possible aspect of a retiree, taking care of their needs, expectations and empathising with their psych. Providing with appropriate diet, medicine on-time and many warm up activities to allay boredom, provide a good day-to-day routine and allowing independence and group living which some may have been longing.

He observed that almost every old age homes were placed far from the heart and centre of the city and not easily accessible to everyone who may have needed it. Also, medical care was outsourced and frequent visits of doctors were difficult at times. His own hospital had everything an elderly needs : easier approach from the city, in-house medical, dental, physiotherapy, pharmacy and even a gym for fitness!So, he set up Nalini Satva Foundation and under this, the initiative of Vadil Sanman Kutir was born.
